November Update: Decrapify for Christmas

My November quest to sell off my crap went pretty well, although I didn’t finish shopping until the week before Christmas.  I did have all but a couple bought before December, I did a ton of shopping online this year, Amazon is awesome!  I  was able to sell a lot of stuff that I had laying around on Craigslist and made $200 to go toward Christmas presents. It worked well enough that I will definitely be making a second run through the apartment to see if I can get rid of some more stuff. While it wasn’t enough to completely cover my Christmas presents for everybody, it was a big chunk of it and really helped make Christmas a little less painful on the wallet. I know this is a short post, but Christmas is right around the corner, and I have some packing to do!

Merry Christmas!

November: Decrapify for Christmas

November is sort of a twofer (that’s a word, the Internet says so).  I’m going to try and get all of my Christmas shopping done by the end of November, which will mean it is done about 24 days earlier than normal, and I’m going to try and finance all of my gifts by selling things I don’t really need anymore. Like most people (some may argue more than most people, but they are not welcome here) I have collected a fair amount of stuff that I haven’t used in a long time, don’t really need, and can’t seem to get rid of. Since it is going towards Christmas presents, it will give me an actual reason to get rid of it, and help avoid the typical December 30th “Crap I sent too much on Christmas again this year and rent is due tomorrow” phenomenon.

Hopefully I am able to sell everything I want to, and get my shopping done under budget. This will definitely be a challenging month!
